French police have used pepper spray to stop migrants from reaching a small boat before it was set to cross to the UK on Friday morning. About 100 men and women gathered on Gravelines beach in northern France in a bid to cross the English Channel. As they made their way to a dinghy in the water, some clashed with French police who used a spray to try and stop them.
