Canisius scored twice in the first half and controlled play for much of a brisk sunny afternoon Thursday during a 2-1 rivalry victory over St. Joe’s at the Robert T. Scott, AFSC Athletic Complex in Kenmore. St. Joe’s did not threaten often and scored their lone goal on a penalty kick awarded on a handball call. Canisius won the teams’ first meeting, 1-0. The Crusaders (11-1-1) close out their terrific nonleague schedule with games against McQuaid Jesuit at home on Saturday and at East Aurora next Thursday.
