This #HubbleTopImage was once the deepest-ever view of the Universe! This photo was, at the time of its release in 2012, the deepest view of the Universe. Called the eXtreme Deep Field (XDF), it was assembled from ten years of NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope observations taken of a small patch of sky within the original Hubble Ultra Deep Field. This image was more sensitive than the original Hubble Ultra Deep Field, and contains about 5500 galaxies 🌌 even within its smaller field of view. The faintest galaxies are one ten-billionth the brightness that the unaided human eye can see 👁️👁️ For more information check the link in bio. 📷 NASA, ESA, G. Illingworth, D. Magee, and P. Oesch (University of California, Santa Cruz), R. Bouwens (Leiden University), and the HUDF09 Team #ESA #Hubble
