LIONS FALL TO MATER DEI IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE: The jserra.girlsvb team closed out the regular season on Tuesday by falling to the Mater Dei Monarchs 18-25, 16-25, 24-26 in the Trinity League finale at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana. The Lions close out the regular season with an overall record of 17-14, while going 3-3 in league play. Junior Makayla Ziegler led the Lions with 13 kills. Senior Catherine Beadles had team-highs in assists (23) and digs (13). Freshman Rory McKelvie had two blocks and two block assists, while senior Ava Ziegler had a block and three block assists. JSerra will take on Santa Margarita in a league placement tie-breaker match on Wednesday, as the Eagles defeated Orange Lutheran on Tuesday and also finished 3-3 in league play.
