I’ve barely shot basketball in my 10 years of being a photographer. to be honest, I never really desired it. nor did I feel excited by it. it was always football for me. I loved the sidelines, the pace of the game, shooting outdoors, the energy was just different to me. don’t get me wrong…basketball has always been an exciting sport but I just barely cared for it bc my mind was focused on football. and if you know me, you know i don’t do anything that I don’t care for 😭😭😭 so I shot BARELY any games in highschool and college. but my mindset on basketball and the aura of the game has entirely shifted since I started shooting in Phoenix. The WNBA is exhilarating. Absolutely exhilarating. From the stories of the athletes to the fight for better pay, the whole league carries so much depth and history that I’m only beginning to unpack.
