Today felt like a full circle New Orleans moment. Mayor-elect Helena Moreno stood beside former Mayor Marc Morial two eras, one city, sharing a single podium. Helena told the story of being a young reporter interviewing Mayor Morial for the first time, and how his kindness and grace stuck with her. United in purpose. That’s not coincidence that’s calling. The wisdom of where we’ve been standing shoulder to shoulder with the courage of where we’re going. This is what unity looks like in real life past and present agreeing on tomorrow. More accountability, more opportunity, more care for the folks who make New Orleans… I’m grateful to be here to witness it, to document it, and to do the work with all who love this city.
