Speaking with TIME about the upcoming ‘Stranger Things’ Season 5, Noah Schnapp discussed the complexities of growing up in the public eye. Schnapp has previously confirmed his character on the show, Will, is gay. Schnapp himself came out at 18. Noah revealed that he spent years struggling to answer questions from journalists about his sexuality. He recalled being pressured by journalists as early as 12 or 13, being asked “Are you gay?” before he even understood how to answer. “When I was younger, I was obviously very scared of talking about it,” Schnapp said. “They would pry and ask me, ‘Is he gay?
