I’m not sure when prayer and spirituality stopped being cool, but I think prayer is so fun. It’s not heavy or serious at all - it just makes you happier. Keeping Shabbat for the past three months has been so good for me. By no means am I doing it perfectly. I still use light switches. I still have coffee with my dad. If my niece shows me her new toy that uses electricity I’ll of course play with her. But I turn off my phone and I don’t drive. It’s not about being perfect. Especially not when it comes to prayer or keeping Shabbat. The creator has endless mercy and He meets you where you are. Turning off our phones and resetting once a week reminds us that no matter how much we push, plan, or think about what’s next, there’s already a path written for us.
