Turning 48 this year, I can honestly say I feel better now than I did in my late 30s and that may surprise you. But the truth is, my 40s taught me some powerful lessons about what it takes to feel strong, confident, energized and truly at ease in my body. And here are the 6 biggest ones:
1. Stop nibbling & grazing — I used to believe that “6 small meals” or constant snacking was the answer. In reality, I was constantly spiking my blood sugar, never giving my body a chance to burn fat. When I switched to 3 quality meals (plus a snack only if needed) my energy stabilised, cravings dropped and my body composition finally shifted.
2. Eat 40-45 g of protein at every meal — It’s not enough to “have some chicken.” Your body needs a therapeutic dose of protein to build muscle, stabilise blood sugar, and keep you full for hours. Once I committed to this, I finally started seeing the muscle tone and metabolism boost I’d been chasing.
