Austin English '26 was recently honored by the Folded Flag Foundation and presented a scholarship at its annual Salute to Service Gala in Washington, D.C. His father, U.S. Army Cpt. Shawn L. English, was killed in action while deployed to Iraq when Austin was just two years old. Austin shared how his father's ultimate sacrifice has inspired him throughout his life and how the organization has played a meaningful role in supporting his life aspirations. The evening honored the courage and sacrifice of our nation’s fallen heroes and the families left behind. All proceeds from the event directly benefit Gold Star children and spouses’ educational needs. The Gala also featured a live and silent auction, speakers including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Veteran and Medal of Honor recipient Kyle Carpenter. #RahVaMil
