Our vision to build healthier lives and stronger communities includes doing our part to ensure future generations have access to clean air, green spaces, and a healthy world in which to run. Here are some of the ways we’re approaching sustainability at the TCS New York City Marathon: 🌍 Compostable Gatorade and water cups will be composted at McEnroe Farms in Upstate NY 🌍 Leftover food will be donated to City Harvest (22,531 pounds of food was donated in 2024) 🌍 New Balance race shirts are made from 100% recycled polyester 🌍 Race-day lead vehicles will be 6 all-electric Volvo EX90s and support vehicles will be 14 hybrid Volvo XC90s 🌍 Discarded runner clothing will be collected at the Start and donated to All of Us clothing who will distribute it to New Yorkers in need (96,000 pounds of clothing were collected and donated in 2024) 🌍 9 waste diversion stations will be at the start and finish with Green Team Volunteers to help runners sort their waste 🌍 New course cleanups along ...
