Susquehanna University students spent a seven-week course mastering Nebuta, a centuries-old Japanese art form, to create illuminated lantern sculptures from bamboo, wire and hand-painted washi paper.
As part of artist George Ferrandi's collection, the student sculpture will travel to communities alongside her other pieces, each one honoring a star destined to become Earth's North Star during a 26,000-year cycle.
