LIONS BLANK EAGLES IN QUARTERFINALS: The jserra.girlsflagfootball team was in dominant winning form on Monday, as the Lions rolled past Trinity League rival Santa Margarita 41-0 in the quarterfinals of the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs at Santa Margarita High School in Rancho Santa Margarita. JSerra is now 26-0 overall and will travel to Goleta on Saturday to take on Dos Pueblos High School in the semifinals. The Lions and Eagles exchanged fourth-and-goal stops to open the game before JSerra found the end zone early in the second period. Sophomore quarterback Ava Van Heerde lofted a deep pass down the left side for freshman Ava Irwin, who made a great adjustment to the ball and hauled in a 30-yard scoring pass.
