Opposition leader María Corina Machado has been in hiding for months but says she has a plan. Reports suggest Venezuela’s opposition has a 100-hour plan with the Trump administration for a peaceful transition of power. “I can't see a scenario in which [the U.S.] wouldn't have to put boots on the ground,” says Phil Gunson, a senior analyst at the International Crisis Group. Gunson lived in Venezuela for 26 years. “It's the kind of the Pottery Barn principle, isn't it? If you break it, you own it. You have to protect the government that you just put in power. And that means I think thousands of troops,” says Gunson. #venezuela #maduro #worldnews #machado #trump
