Let me be clear: I am by no means suggesting you shouldn’t loosen the reigns and enjoy yummy foods (and drinks) when you travel. BUT I have found there are some ways to do this while not feeling absolutely awful and disappointed when you return.
Here are my TIPS (as someone just finishing a long cut and spending 3 weeks in Indonesia and Vietnam):
1. STRONG BASE: I have spent years building muscle which means my basal metabolic rate is quite high. In simple terms that translates to: I can eat a high amount of food without gaining weight. This allowed me to maintain a lot of progress on my trip without being super stressed. BUILD MUSCLE FRIENDS.
2. NO EXTREMES LEADING UP ❌: I lost over 10# in the lead up to my trip BUT I did so slowly and strategically over several months so that I never felt extremely hungry or miserable. In doing so, I didnt feel the need to go crazy on my trip when I got out of my normal routine. I ate the yummy foods in moderation and moved on. EXTREME DIETING OFT...
