The Mount Pleasant Parks, Recreation and Public Spaces Department introduced three new employees at the city commission's meeting on Oct. 27.

The city commission also discussed concerns regarding the federal government shutdown.
"When your neighbor is in need, you build a longer table, not a higher fence," City Commissioner Ryon Skalitzy said.
