Lots of college programs talk about being “Quarterback University” or “Wide Receiver University,” taking pride in developing players from a certain skill position who make the jump to the NFL.
For the Bears, they have made a name for themselves as “Defensive Back University,” or “DBU.”
Cal has had plenty of great names across all position groups make it to the league — a testament to the program’s ability to cultivate NFL-level talent. But most recently, it’s been the ball hawks who have made names for themselves as pro Bears.
