Late fall migration across North America is still underway! Even as many birds settle in for winter, several long-distance travellers linger or depart late: - Rusty Blackbird – One of the last songbirds to move through in fall, with much of their passage in October–November. - Fox Sparrow – Peak migrations often occur in late October into November; watch for these ground-foraging gems. - Blackpoll Warbler – These long-distance warblers have an extended passage period that can stretch into later fall. - Yellow-rumped Warbler – Common through October and often still present into November in many regions. - Palm Warbler – Among warblers that may linger relatively late in fall, especially in suitable stopover habitat. - Golden Eagle – Peak southbound migration often happens in late October and November at major watch sites (e.g. Hawk Mountain, eastern U.S.; Rocky Mountains out west). - Harris’s Sparrow – Their fall migration begins in late October, and many move through in November...
