One year after his brother Dylan Fien heard his name called in the seventh round, Gavin heard his name called 12th overall by the Texas Rangers. Gavin, who some believe was the best prep hitter in the 2025 draft class, shot up draft boards after an impressive summer circuit from the PG All-American.
