Kendrick Lamar is the top nominee for the 2026 Grammys, the Recording Academy revealed in its nomination livestream on Friday, with the rap superstar heading into this year’s awards with nine nominations including for album, record and song of the year for album GNX and its hit single “Luther.”⁠ ⁠ Lamar, who now has 66 nominations across his career, looks to continue the momentum from last year’s Grammys, where he won for both record and song of the year for “Not Like Us,” though he faces stiff competition from fellow superstars Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny and Sabrina Carpenter, who received nominations in all the general field categories alongside him.⁠ ⁠ Gaga is the second-most-nominated artist this year with seven, as Mayhem was also nominated for album of the year while single “Abracadabra” nabbed record and song of the year nods too.
