For deseretnews In the first two games I photographed at Utah, the Deseret News typically had access to one of the outside photo lanes. Due to the distance from the basket, I decided to use a 50mm f/1.2 lens for my floor remote (a camera I leave at my feet, set up with a wider composition and a pocketwizard to wirelessly capture an image whenever I take one with the camera I'm holding). Initially, I stopped down the lens and manually focused near the basket to ensure a large area would remain sharp. As the game progressed, I decided to take a risk and try something new.
