Rolling out red oil base ink with a brayer on the ink stone in preparation for some letterpress printing in the print shop exhibit at the Sacramento History Museum. As Howard demonstrates, this is done to create an even layer of ink on the ink stone and brayer. The remaining ink at the top of the stone will gradually be rolled out as we’re printing. Oil base ink can remain up to a couple hours on the ink stone before drying. For those wondering, all videos this past week where we were printing with red ink were recorded on the same day. #ink #red #SacHistoryMuseum #sacramento #museum #history #letterpress #printingpress #asmr #printing #oldsacramento
