How many times have you leaned over to show your friend or colleague something on your phone? This is why measuring specific ROI with social media can get tricky. When it comes to organic social media we can track analytics (impressions, reach, engagement rate, website clicks, etc.) but there’s no way to track the people who are seeing your post in these “social” ways. Brand awareness is notoriously hard to track or quantify. Here’s two things I advise clients to do: 1. Ask all prospective clients how they heard about their business. 2. Think of social media as your digital storefront. Use it to build brand awareness and connect community. Stop trying to measure the ROI on each post if you don’t have the proper things in place.
