#SothebysGeneva achieved $28.9 million—the highest autumn season total in over 10 years—and broke several world records in the process.
In Sunday morning’s Important Watches live sale, highlights included the legendary and one-of-a-kind Mercedez Gleitze Rolex Oyster which sold for $1.73 million to a determined room bidder, a Patek Philippe “First Series” Ref. 2499 selling for $2.4 million, and a black-dialed stainless steel Patek Philippe Ref. 96 which made $204,996 – far exceeding a pre-sale estimate of 15,000 to 30,000 CHF.
Sunday evening, we were back in the auction room to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Breguet – the brand which traces its history back to Abraham-Louis Breguet, the most influential watchmaker of all time. The thematic sale realized over $15 million.
