The number 1 thing i recommend to all my pregnant friends is pelvic floor therapy. and i mean as soon as possible, bc the waitlists are REAL! This is my second postpartum journey with solutionsphysicaltherapy . You would think your recovery would be a rinse and repeat from your first pregnancy, but yeahhhhhh, absolutely not. Although the same areas are of focus - pelvic floor and diastases recti - no two pregnancies or birthing experiences are alike, and so your care plan must adapt. To make matters trickier, i experienced a ton of injuries ✨ freshly ✨ postpartum. like we checked out of the hospital with our new baby and i was back at the hospital 72 hours later. Thankfully bc i signed up for PF therapy while pregnant, i was already scheduled and could add upper body rehabilitation to my plan. Mamas, please take care of yourselves. If you’re lucky enough to have parental leave, know that it’s not just about the baby’s physical development, it’s about you too!
