“Bushes are nice ‘cause they don’t have prickers. Unless they do. This one did. Ouch!” - Ralph Wiggum⁣ ⁣ Joshua Tree’s many species of cacti are a beautiful sight, especially when illuminated by the setting sun – the teddybear cholla (Cylindropuntia bigelovii) is shown here at the Cholla Cactus Garden. But don’t let your guard down around this teddy bear! It’s all too easy to brush up against a cactus in this environment and get yourself into a “prickle.” ⁣ ⁣ We’re learneding! Keep your wits about you and look up, down, and all around while visiting the park to make sure you’re not about to run into something spiky! ⁣(Good advice for plant, animal, or temperamental hiking partners.) ⁣ Images: At joshuatreenps, views of spiky teddybear cholla (Cylindropuntia bigelovii) in the Cholla Cactus Garden.
