Jessica Tisch and Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani finally confirmed what Mamdani promised in October: she’s staying on as Police Commissioner. Tisch — sworn in as Mayor Eric Adams’s fourth police commissioner one year ago — didn't want to discuss differences she has with Mamdani, a Democratic Socialist who for years was an NYPD critic. But in an internal email to NYPD officers, Tisch wrote she’d been reassured after multiple meetings with Mamdani.
