One thing that I always longed for while I was living in Los Angeles was nature. Yes, there is a fair amount of nature there, but it wasn’t as easily accessible to me and it was always quite dry. I’ve always dreamed of having a wet rainy garden. Sounds funny, but it’s so magical to me. I’ve grown to absolutely love the spring here in Pennsylvania. Though we’ve never had a full garden before, building this small one while we are renovating the house has been a nice little escape from the stress. The cool thing about it is it feels as though the ability to grow things is embedded in our DNA. I was always told that I had a green thumb by my great grandmother when I was a kid. She taught me a few things about growing plants and harvesting herbs to use in making traditional medicines.
