#EltonJohn, after decades of fighting the AIDS epidemic is still standing. Since 1992, the Elton John AIDS Foundation has over $650 million (with matching grants, they’ve surpassed $1 billion) — but the British singer is upset that the epidemic is being overshadowed by other global crises and stigmas towards the LGBTQ community. “You know, there’s a big war that’s being settled, hopefully,” he says, referring to Gaza “But there’s a war with even more people involved, people who are suffering from HIV and AIDS that should be able to get their medicine but can’t, because governments won’t let them. It’s inhumane.” Yet, as he’s always done, he remains hopeful. “I’ve had the most incredible life, and there is hope. I’ve just gotta be patient that someday science will help me with this one.
