Our ESA/Hubble Picture of the Week features a stormy spiral galaxy ⛈️
🔴 NGC 1792 is a starburst galaxy 🌟 with its spiral arms rich in star-forming regions. It is close to a larger neighbour, NGC 1808, and their gravitational interaction is believed to have stirred up the gas in NGC 1792.
🔴 The result is a torrent of star formation, concentrated on the side where gravity has a stronger effect.
🔴 The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope has imaged this galaxy before, but this new image contains additional data collected throughout 2025, providing a deeper view into NGC 1792’s star-forming drama!
