After a 2-0 victory Sunday night over the UNC-Greensboro Spartans, packmenssoccer advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1992. This victory was made possible by goals from arguably the Wolfpack’s two biggest stars, senior midfielder Taig Healy and junior forward Donovan Phillip. The Wolfpack will ride this “elite” high to Washington D.C. as it prepares to meet the No. 7 Georgetown Hoyas. NC State eliminated Georgetown in the NCAA tournament last season so this game carries a bit more significance for both teams.
