New from #OPG_BOEx: Miniature microscope captures real-time voltage signals in awake animals. The 16.4 g microscope pairs a compact, efficient optical system with high numerical aperture with a high-speed sensor to reliably enable the recording of both the rapid electrical spikes and the smaller sub-threshold voltage changes that occur inside neurons in freely moving animals. The #technology could expand our understanding of neural activity, leading to new treatments for neurological and neurodegenerative disorders.
