We like to find “national holidays” online as an excuse to highlight or print many of the items in our print shop exhibit. Today is a good example of that because December 3rd is National Candle Day! For today, Howard letterpress printed an assortment of sorts (each is cast in type metal and follow the same structure as type) that were made by the American Type Founders in the early 1920s. These five images of candles would have been used in Christmas holiday related cards.
