Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly on Monday said he would not be silenced by President Donald Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth after the Department of Defense announced last week that it would be launching a “thorough review” of the Arizona senator following the recently released video in which Kelly and other Democratic lawmakers called on U.S. troops to refuse illegal orders.
“Trying to silence me in proposing to court martial me, in threatening to kill me for fighting back when our democracy demands that we must fight back. President Trump has crossed the line. And this time, it’s not going to work,” Kelly said.
The Pentagon announced the investigation last week after President Donald Trump accused Kelly and the five other Democratic lawmakers in the video of sedition “punishable by death.”
