🚨 WORLD CUP ACTION IN ATX? 🚨
Austin might have missed out on a World Cup game but they aren’t out of the action completely. 👀
According to Kevin Lyttle, Austin FC club president Andy Loughnane tells fox7austin, Q2 Stadium, and St. David’s Performance Center are strong candidates to host training sessions for at least ONE World Cup team. 🔥
This news isn’t surprising as Austin FC’s facilities have already been used for Copa América, Copa Oro, MLS All-Star week, Leagues Cup, and multiple international friendlies.
Last month club president Andy Loughnane teased this info during the Apple TV new contract presser saying there were more things coming on an international stage but he couldn’t speak more on the topic. 🤫
With Dallas and Houston hosting matches in 2026… Austin staying active in the World Cup footprint makes perfect sense.
