Please help us celebrate Aubrey! She’s doing great almost five years after her #brainsurgery! In July 2020, Aubrey experienced flu-like symptoms, headaches and persistent vomiting. Her family took her to multiple hospitals in #Monterey County, but doctors couldn’t determine the cause. Two months later, she unfortunately had a #stroke, and an MRI revealed a mass in her head. Aubrey was air-lifted to our #Oakland hospital, where our team drained fluid from her brain. She then had a successful surgery to remove the mass. Aubrey continued her treatment with radiation therapy and worked hard to regain movement and speech with our physical, occupational and speech therapists. Now in fifth grade, Aubrey still has some paralysis on one side of her face, but her health is excellent. She recently took up #taekwondo, earning her green belt! Over the holidays, Aubrey gave back to our hospital by donating toys to our patients!
