congratulations to the atlanta braves and their fan base for winning the 2021 world series - their first championship in 27 years and the second since the team moved from milwaukee in 1966. this squad deserved it after grinding thru many major injuries and setbacks.
as the final out was thrown last night, i was immediately reminded of the great henry louis aaron, who sadly passed away earlier this year at the age of 86. hank’s accomplishments on the field were truly jaw dropping: 25 all-star appearances, 3,771 hits, 755 career home runs, 2,297 rbi, etc. not only is he immortalized in the baseball hall of fame, but was also the face of milwaukee baseball and the braves organization for decades.
above all of his accolades, however, hank held the many admirable qualities of a real american hero. his displays of strength, leadership, perseverance, and courage during times of true adversity helped carve a legacy that will never die. mr. aaron still means so much to this game and to this ...
