I was away last week in Vancouver visiting my bibi jan (grandmother) and between hospital visits, I had a short window to visit the @vancouverpubliclibrary. Here’s my observation. Fun fact: In January 1869, the manager of the Hastings Mill, started the New London Mechanics Institute, a meeting room and library for mill employees. In March 1869, it was renamed the Hastings Literary Institute, in honour of the British Empire Rear Admiral, George Fowler Hastings who come from Britain. #history #Canada #reading
