Meet Karly, the designer of this year’s
#HockeyFightsCancer puck. On Dec. 2, 2024, she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. After 10 long months of treatments, she rang the bell this past September.
Karly took inspiration for her design from her own battle with leukemia and the hope to find a cure. She said the heart represents the love and support she received from family, friends, the community, nurses, doctors, therapists and fellow patients. The lavender, in addition to being her favorite color, represents awareness for all types of cancers.
Mystery pucks featuring Karly’s design will be available at the Blues For Kids section and The District at Monday’s Hockey Fights Cancer game. All proceeds will fund a research grant for sitemancancercenter through thevfoundation.
