Meet Isabel Simmons, aerodynamicist for Atlassian williamsracing 💙 Isabel’s path into motorsport began with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at queensuniversity in Canada, where she became fascinated with aerodynamics. To explore this further, she completed a summer research term at the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies(utias.uoft), which sparked her passion for aerodynamic design, leading her to pursue a master’s in aerospace design 👩‍🎓 Although not particularly interested in watching f1 races with her dad growing up, it was at this time that she started speaking to him about the sport’s aerodynamics and the intricacies of designing components to optimise aerodynamic performance. Her interest grew further, and she dreamed of contributing to the design of these components. This led to her applying for a role at Williams and moving to Oxford to join the team.
