Luke Littler has revealed he will not be attending the BBC Sports Personality of the Year ceremony next week. On Thursday, it was announced that the 18-year-old was on the six-person shortlist for the prestigious prize for his exploits, which kicked off in January when he became the youngest ever world champion at Alexandra Palace. He has since won the UK Open, World Grand Prix, Grand Slam of Darts, the Players Championship and the World Matchplay tournament in 2025 in what has been an incredible year for the teen sensation. Littler will battle it out for the award with F1 world champion Lando Norris, golf supremo Rory McIlroy, Lionesses duo Chloe Kelly and Hannah Hampton and rugby star Ellie Kildunne, but he told reporters that he does not intend to be at next Thursday's ceremony in Media City.
