Practice makes perfect 🏗️
Astronaut Zena Cardman is seen here aboard the International Space Station, practicing robotic maneuvers inside the ISS cupola. Specifically, zenanaut is working on Canadarm2, a 58-foot-long Canadian-built robotic arm which assembled large portions of the orbiting laboratory. It's still used today to move gear outside of the station, maneuver astronauts during spacewalks, and capture and release uncrewed cargo ships.
This photo was taken on Sept. 11, 2025, shortly before NASA's NG-23 cargo mission lifted off from Florida to send supplies to space. Astronaut Jonny Kim, with assistance from Cardman, captured Northrop Grumman's Cygnus XL spacecraft with Canadarm2 on Sept. 18.
