The Academy Awards have found a new home. 🏆
Starting in 2029, the Oscars will stream live and for free to more than 2 billion viewers globally on YouTube, as well as to YouTube TV subscribers in the United States.
This will mark the end of a decades-long run on ABC, which has aired the show since 1976. The Google-owned video site will take over beginning with the 101st Oscars ceremony; the deal currently runs through 2033. YouTube's coverage will include the red carpet, behind-the-scenes content, Governors Ball access, and more for users worldwide.
