Norway's future queen, Crown Princess Mette Marit, is set undergo a lung transplant after an alarming deterioration in her condition. The 52-year-old wife of Crown Prince Haakon was diagnosed with chronic pulmonary fibrosis in 2018 and has had to cut back her royal duties ever since. According to the palace, "A number of tests have been carried out that show a clear worsening of the Crown Princess's health. The physicians at Rikshospitalet University Hospital have therefore started the process towards an evaluation for potential lung transplant surgery."
