What can the past tell us about the future? In this episode, historian Adriane Lentz-Smith, a professor with Duke's Trinity College of Arts & Sciences, explains how today’s natural disasters should be seen as deeply tied to the decisions and experiences of past societies. History asks us to think about who we want to be while we are here. What sort of world do we want to build for the next generation? Let’s Talk About Climate Change is an interdisciplinary class for first-year students that encourages exploration of climate change from perspectives in the natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and the arts. Incoming students will see it offered as part of the How Does Climate Affect Our World Constellation series. This video series "Climate Is..." highlights perspectives from faculty who taught in the course, like Lentz-Smith.
