More than 40 years ago, Brian Taylor and Larry Sutton pledged Phi Beta Sigma together at SUNY Old Westbury, a college about an hour outside New York City. Back then, they were building bonds through long nights, shared goals, and that special kind of friendship that turns into family. Fast forward a few decades, and that bond is still going strong. When Larry’s health situation became serious and he needed a kidney, Brian didn’t hesitate. He made the decision to donate one of his kidneys to the man he calls his line brother, his close friend, and his chosen family. It’s one thing to talk about loyalty. It’s another thing to put your life on the line to help someone keep theirs. Their story is a reminder that real brotherhood isn’t just a word you wear on a jacket or say at a reunion, it’s what you do when it counts the most. #PBS #PhiBetaSigma
