8 weeks ❌, 5 weeks & 1 day ✅ Jack Hughes will be returning in the Devils lineup nearly 3 WEEKS ahead of his original timeline given of 8 weeks following his finger surgery on November 15th! Exactly 20 days early, things quickly went from mid-January to prior to Christmas 😅 Reports last week signaled Jack was set to have an appointment sometime this week with doctors to see where he was at in recovery, however he’s already set to be back in the Devils lineup tonight vs the Sabres before even getting a full practice in with the team! Jack’s been skating for at minimum a week with a stick & puck on his own while the team was on the road. Jack was asked after morning skate today if this was original plan to return at this time, explaining it was hard to gauge and just followed doctors instructions.
