Former US president Barack Obama has released his annual lists of favourite films, books and music, and 2025’s music roundup features a couple of LGBTQ+ anthems. Lady Gaga’s ‘Mayhem’ hit ‘Abracadabra’ and Chappell Roan’s sapphic country song ‘The Giver’ have both made it to the list alongside the likes of Bruce Springsteen, BLACKPINK, Rosalía and Olivia Dean. In a post revealing the list on 18 December, Obama wrote: “As 2025 comes to a close, I’m continuing a tradition that I started during my time in the White House: sharing my annual lists of favorite books, movies, and music. I hope you find something new to enjoy—and please send any recommendations for me to check out!” He also listed Michelle Obama’s book ‘The Look’ in his list of favourite reading materials, prefacing it with ‘And obviously I’m biased’, to which his wife responded with the heart and kissy face emojis. 📷 Getty #ChappellRoan #LadyGaga #Obama
