If AI is just software, why does it cost so much to run? Training an AI model is expensive. But here is the part most people miss. Running it is expensive too. Every time you ask an AI a question, it is not just thinking. It is loading massive amounts of data into memory, moving that data across chips, and keeping powerful processors active just to generate a response. Ai is limited by memory and bandwidth. The model has to constantly pull weights from memory, keep context alive, and move information back and forth across the system. That data movement costs energy. A lot of it. At scale, inference, not training, often becomes the biggest cost. And this is why it matters. The cost of running AI determines how widely it can be deployed and who can afford to scale it. So when AI feels cheap or free, it is not. Someone is paying in electricity, hardware, and data centers. AI is not expensive because it is smart. It is expensive because moving information is physically hard. #tech #techexp...
