The thoracic spine is meant to move, and when it doesn’t, the lumbar spine pays the price. That’s how stiffness turns into pain, and pain turns into “bad backs” people think are normal with age. Loss of rotation is one of the fastest ways to accelerate spinal wear and tear. Rotation is how the body transfers force, protects the spine, and stays functional long-term.
